Eco-Friendly Carpet, Upholstery and hard floor cleaning specialists
WHY WOOLSAFE?
In 1998 The WOOLSAFE Organisation launched an accreditation scheme for professional
carpet cleaning companies, called the WOOLSAFE Certified Operators programme, to
counter unqualified carpet cleaners who give the carpet cleaning industry a bad
reputation.
Independent carpet cleaning companies, franchisees and in-house carpet cleaning
contractors can become WOOLSAFE Certified Operators.
They must be fully trained in all carpet cleaning techniques, have been in business
continuously for a period of at least 5 years and be a member of a recognised professional
or trade association related to the cleaning industry - such as the NCCA. They must
attend a WOOLSAFE training course, pass the exit exam and meet other requirements
relating to their business and professional associations.
Certified Operators undertake to use WOOLSAFE-approved products whenever they clean
or maintain wool or wool-rich carpeting.
THE WOOLSAFE CERTIFIED OPERATORS PROGRAMME
- trains, examines and accredits leading carpet cleaning companies
- requires the use of WOOLSAFE-approved products, thereby ensuring the highest
standards in wool carpet and upholstery cleaning and maintenance
WHY NCCA?
Established in 1968, the National Carpet Cleaners Association (NCCA) is the only
independent UK trade body dedicated to the cleaning of carpets, hard flooring, upholstery,
curtains and other soft furnishings. As such it is now nationally recognised by
government, media, industry and commerce as the authoritative source of information
and advice on all aspects of the industry.
The principal objective of the NCCA is the establishment and maintenance of minimum
standards within the carpet and upholstery cleaning industry, with the dual aim
of safeguarding the reputation of the industry and protecting its customers, whether
in the domestic or commercial sphere.
Members are required to abide by the Association's Code of Practice, which covers
such specifics as fair pricing, service, complaints procedures, liability and consumer
protection, and is designed to ensure customer satisfaction at all times. All members
are expected to provide a fair deal for their customers, summed up by the NCCA motto
'SERVICE WITH INTEGRITY'.
